Inside the zip there's 2 maps. You open them using the editor from the mapmaker package.
I've attached screenshots of the maps to this post.

Yes, basically they're just text files and you can even open them with notepad.
Editing using the editor is much easier though ;)
You can find the editor in the mapmaker package on the page: Joining Atrinik Development.

Yes I know about the mapmaker package; they had it in Dai, too. :) Not really looking to be a dev of any sort right now; maybe when my life settles a bit.

what i will do is edit Cleo's Engilsh grammar, though, when I see a need to do so ... ;)

Not sure from the maps where the graveyard would be but looks like it's attached to the town, so can you give a zoomed out map of the town indicating where the graveyard would be, and also the catacombs? That might help a bit ...

This is the current state of Clearhaven-remake.
The graveyard would be located south of the smithy.

hrm, ok this is a bit confusing to me. What's with all the numbers?

OK I think I see the Smithy, the location looks to be OK, although wouldn't the orientation of the map have to be changed? It looks like the map would appear to go on top of the current Clearhaven map ....

Do you plan on making the graveyard a bit bigger? I like it as is but it seems just a bit small. Perhaps run it along the entire southern border of Clearhaven?

As for the catacombs, they seem a bit .... IDK, lacking? Not really sure what to do about them, though :(

im redoing them tonight or tomorrow bigger maybe catacombs 48x24 and graveyard 24x48 not much of a difference but yea

Those are light sources.

South of the bank will be a road, that will pass the graveyard, then turn around into it.

They're Ghost maps. Of course it needs a slight modification to allow for it to fit into Clearhaven though it's up to him. I think it's just big enough but the catacombs can be expanded.

Ghost PMed me that he's still going to edit them tomorrow. (Tonight for me I guess).

As for mapping, I agree with you on doing it when you're feeling like it.
There's absolutely no deadlines (e.g. Tutorial Island remake started 7 months ago).

Right, it looks like the right place. But from the path, you could have the graveyard run the course from west to east, bordering the southern border of Clearhaven ...

Well redid the graveyard from a 24x24 to a 24x48 its coming along great! Figured out that grass+reeds makes dead grass... well it looks like it. But once i'm done with the graveyard its epic picture will be posted!

Cool, I never thought of that ;)
As long as it's in the floormask layer (default) you won't see the name of the reed anyway.
Unlike the reed to the north of the remade Clearhaven.
I had to put that in layer 3 (items/regular objects) because of the grass and water floormasks.

I figured out changing water to a land surface enables you to walk on it! :D I so didn't know that  :shock:

Set the terrain type like it should.
If you want to walk on water use an item that enables you to.
Or a script if you have a good reason for it :)

Images of the redone GY and Cats

Take note on the old woman in the little room in the cats that she doesnt have a spawn_point and I noticed it right after the picture saved and she now has a spawn

The Catacombs map is really an improvement :D
Did you know there' s some missing walls in the middle to the south?


IDK how to make npcs talk help? a guide?

In the editor, select an NPC.
Open it' s 'Attributes' window and select the 'NPC message' tab.
There click the question mark '?' for help.

The Graveyard looks nice, especially with the dead grass, however the entrance seems to be on the wrong side. Could you move the entrance to the west side of the map so I can fit it into Clearhaven? :)

The quest seems interesting :)
There's two things I see that need fixing:
-You can set map difficulty in the map attributes (ctrl+M)
Then set the relative level of the mobs accordingly (Attributes > special > relative level)
If you don't remember the colours, have a look on tutorial island in the building that explains it :)
-The skeleton mages can cast spells but haven't got any.
In the editor open the 'Archetypes' panel. Select the 'forces' tab and pick 'ability' from the drop down menu. Add the ability you prefer to the inventory of the mob by clicking 'Add Inv'

You could also add a light (3 or so) to the small cauldron Sue is using and the fireplace in her room.
Maybe a light-source of 2 on the stairs, up to you.
When adding lights, don't forget to set Darkness in the map attributes (ctrl+M).

Looking forward to see more of the catacombs :)

Bump! Lets get this topic rolling again. I haven't figured out how I want the graveyard to look, but, I'll figure it out. In the meantime, enjoy part one of the Catacombs floor 1. This is map 24x24 out of 24x48 for the first floor. Enjoy.
