Interesting. The binaries from the repository are compiled under Karmic and then are copied for Hardy, Intrepid and Jaunty so it might have something to do with that. Can you try this command:

Quote
atrinik-client -nometa -server 85.216.146.84 -port 13327

and see if that works?

Possibly has to do something with you attempting to connect and the download of needed files could not be completed last time it crashed.

Try removing .atrinik directory in your home directory.

Awesome. I'll look into the crash issue in a moment.

I have a problem with something
when i was playing about 10 min the keybords looks freezed
I have to press repeatly for having only a key. And gets worse with the pass of time.
The big problem is that when i close the client the problem persist in my descktop but stabilyces ,and i have to restart X
two times the game crashed when the keyboard was terribly slow

Sounds like a problem with video drivers and not actually Atrinik.

The only thing I can think of is going to the client's settings (when you log in, ESC -> Settings), going to Client tab and disabling "Save CPU time with sleep()".

I've had this problem before. Are you using a computer that has an Intel Integrated video card?

If so, the fix appears to be to use EXA rather than UXA. Of course, this brings in its own problems (namely slightly slower performance, and some incompatibilities with some programs), but appears to fix the main issue of freezing.

To switch to using EXA, there are a few steps that are required. If you have an Xorg.conf file (check in /etc/X11/), then simply add to the section "Device" for your video card, the line:
Code: inactive:javascript:void(0);

Option      "AccelMethod" "exa"

And then restart X (e.g. logout and login again). That should solve the problem, if this was the original issue.

If you don't have an Xorg.conf file (which is highly likely), then you'll need to do some work on the command line. Hit CTRL-ALT-F1, or whatever it is to switch to a fullscreen console on your computer, and log in as root. If you use GDM, then type /etc/init.d/gdm stop; kdm is /etc/init.d/kdm stop. Or, if you use another DM, stop it accordingly. Then run the command X -configure. Your display should flash as X probes your hardware; then run the command cp ~/xorg.conf /etc/X11/. Start your DM again (replace stop with start), and try running Atrinik to see if it solves the issue.

Note that this is probably the wrong way to go about fixing the issue (and, indeed it may be for a completely different problem). Again, this *only* applies for Intel-based integrated video cards.

Good luck!
