This is the first image of 'Bane' a 'Broad Axe +1'...

...its only the front view, still needs a little modeling work done on it, and needs both materials and textures...

...C & C (comments & criticisms) welcome...

Hi, sorry! Its me

This is of the items that I have had trouble describing when compiling my guide.

There are (at least) 2 different items described as "broad axe" in Atrinik.  One has a picture with two "half moon" axe heads back-to-back; and the other has a very "pretty" blade with just a small counterbalance the other side.

In Wikipedia there are two types of broad axe - a 2-headed axe known as the chopping broad axe and the other with just the axe-head on one side known as the hewing broad axe.

Your "bane" looks like a hewing broad axe :)  Please may I suggest that any confusion is eliminated (I get easily confused).

Love Floozy

I know its as confusing as hell... there are so many different types of broad axe, its difficult to know which one to pick...

you've got :

  • 1 headed
  • 1 headed with spike/hammer
  • 2 headed

and thats just the broad categories

and then you sometimes have spikes, on the ends of the haft (handle), its like being a kid in a 'pick and mix' sweet shop

Its a 1 Headed broad axe with spike, I tried to stay as close to the in-game image as possible, and I took the '+1' to mean it was bigger and meaner than an ordinary axe, so I made the blade bigger...

... the decorations are all my idea, it seemed too plain otherwise...

Hope that cleared up any confusion... :)

I like the axe, although I do need to point out that the +1 is a magical enchantment, not necessarily something that's "bigger and meaner" than an ordinary axe. ;-) But still, I like your work, Talis -- looking forward to seeing more of it in-game soon! :D

First, I want to say I really like the axe you made, Talis.
I too am looking forward to see it textured and implemented in-game! :D

In reply to floozy I'll post all axes with their in-game names.
Files with ".101" haven't got an in-game name at all.
Note that I left out all pole-arms. They already have unique names anyway.
Please feel free to suggest.

Some names are the same (which is why Floozy suggested it), so lets say:
