Hi folks,

I've created a page on Facebook for Atrinik

Atrinik MMORPG: http://bit.ly/Atrinik

All news that Cleo posts to the web site under the "News & Updates" section will auto-post to the Atrinik MMORPG facebook page as a status update (So Cleo & others, when posting such news/updates, please keep in mind that it goes out to people who may not be familiar with the game/web site as of yet....)

I've used bitly for the URL, which is a URL shortening service that's popular with social media sites, as it provides some analytics on the link. It also allows for customization of the URL (originally it was http://bit.ly/ddjPN0 but I was able to change it to a vanity-like URL, as above).

I'm going to create a Twitter account now for Atrinik, which essentially will just republish any status updates from the Atrinik MMORPG FB page.

Yes, but add it as the "Facebook Fan Page for Atrink MMORPG" (or titled something along those lines)

Can you use this link, and let me know if you can see if you can see any analytics for the URL? If so, which stats are you able to see?

OK so you're able to see total clicks and what aggregate data might be available, but not the aggregate data itself. Did you try clicking on the referrers and locations tabs and seeing if any info came up there?

Interesting that one click came from the web site, one from email, and another from Google in the UK (Lippy? o.O ) The other two came from social media sites like FB, Twitter ...

I can see top referrers, but not locations.

I've set up a Twitter account for Atrinik:

Anything posted to the FB page will auto-post to the Twitter account.

Currently, I have the FB account set up so that anything Cleo or any of the other devs posts as "news" items (that appear on the home page of the web site) will auto-post to the FB account, which then of course auto-post to the Twitter account. Of course, as twitter status updates are limited to 140 characters, only the first 116 chars or so will be included in the update, with a link to the FB status update so users can read the update in full.

I'm also going to try posting other items of interest to the FB page, such as in-game goings-on (NiteStar has just slayed MagicGod and taken his finger in the PVP arena--MagicGod is on his way back to reclaim his finger!) and perhaps the hiscore list from time to time -- what do you guys think of this?

I saw Part 1 of this article & contacted the author when it came out. Lo and behold, Part 2 was just released, and guess what? We're in it:

You'll see the article write-up (it's brief), as well as requirements for inclusion in the article. Then you'll see us in the #2 spot, which puts is in the top 10 of 24 addictive free Linux games.

Nice. A few more and we may meet WP:N... That is, as long as some random Wikador doesn't find another reason to delete such article.

Yes well AFAICT the only reason (after reading through the history & discussion & arguments) as to why Dai was deleted from WP was b/c of the non-existence of reputable, independent sources and reviews. They didn't consider "listing sites" to be a reputable source -- and at the time, Dai had only been listed on such sites with their banner/voting thing going on.
